Eukanuba Renal Formula - Veterinary Diets - Cat

Helps treat clinical symptoms (e.g. anorexia, constipation, malnutrition, metabolic acidosis, vomiting, hepatic encephalopathy) that are associated with kidney and liver disorders.

Kidneys

• Nitrogen Trap Fibre SystemTM (beet pulp, FOS, Arabic gum): helps to reduce the amount of nitrogen-containing waste, allowing a diet with a moderate level of protein to be given.
• Moderate level of protein: helps to maintain the glomerular filtration rate
• Custom ratio of Omega-6 and Omega-3 fatty acids: increases the GFR and reduces inflammation at the cellular level
• Reduced phosphorus content: soy protein isolate (reduced phosphorus content) helps to control hyperphosphatemia, so as to slow the progression of renal diseases
• Added potassium: helps to control metabolic acidosis.

Liver

• Nitrogen Trap Fibre SystemTM (beet pulp, FOS, Arabic gum) reduces ammonia build up that can occur as a result of liver diseases (hepatic encephalopathy)
• Moderate high-quality protein content: a major component that makes the recovery of the liver possible, as well as the preservation of the hepatic function
• Custom ratio of Omega-6 and Omega-3 fatty acids: helps to counteract inflammation at the cellular level
• Soy protein isolate: vegetable protein source, which has been shown to lead to hepatic encephalopathy less frequently.
