Groene Os Podocomplex is a food supplement that improves blood circulation in the hooves of horses and ponies.

Laminitis:

Laminitis is common in horses and ponies, usually occurring on both front feet, and can have different causes.

Key features of each ingredient:

• Nux Vomica contains the alkaloids strychnine and brucine. These substances ensure good bowel movements, which could include toxic substances or excess food which need to be expelled from the body quickly. Also, the alkaloids in Nux vomica ensure good blood circulation throughout the body. Overall it allows waste materials to be discharged from the hoof much easier.
• Ledum palustre ensures proper disposal of waste materials. Ledum also supports blood flow to vital areas of the body (including the hoof).
• Ginkgo biloba contains ginkgolides. The ginkgolides help support blood circulation because they cause the blood vessels to dilate.
• Arnica Montana supports the blood circulation specifically in the hooves.

Dosage and administration:

Horses and ponies: 20 drops twice daily (= 1 ml) to be administered. It can be mixed with food or soaked into a treat. Shake well before use.

Comments:

It is best used in combination with Groene Os Drainage Compositum or in combination with Groene Os Liver Compositum

Improvement:

Improvements in symptoms should occur within one week. In addition, the standard measures for treatment of laminitis should be continued, for example, by adjusting food and grazing. If you do not see any improvement within one week using the above combination, further measures must be taken in consultation with your veterinarian, such as taking X-rays to exclude a tilted hoof.

For animals more susceptible to laminitis, the above combination can be used to help prevent it.
