Avicas tablets work against roundworms and hairworms in pigeons.
Worms in pigeons
The most common worm species in pigeons are roundworms (Ascaridia columbae) and/or hairworms (Capillaria spp.). Roundworms may be visible to the naked eye in faeces, whereas hairworms are only visible through a microscope. The presence of worms in birds can cause poor condition, weight loss, bowel blockages and poor digestion.
Avicas contains febantel and works best against roundworms and hairworms. Avicas will not cause vomiting, has no negative effects on the birds plumage. Avicas is easy to apply and must be used simultaneously by all pigeons in the loft.
Roundworm infection in pigeons
Administer 1 tablet of Avicas on days 1 and 8. Thoroughly clean the coop after the first treatment and preferably burn their surroundings with a burner.
Hairworm infection in pigeons
Administer 1 tablet of Avicas on days 1 and 2. Thoroughly clean the coop after the second treatment and preferably burn their surroundings with a burner. Administer 1 tablet of Avicas on days 8 and 9.
To prevent infestation, give each bird one tablet of Avicas one month before the mating and racing seasons.
