Hill's r/d - Weight Loss/Low Calorie - Canine

Hill's r/d Canine has been specially developed for obese dogs, those with diabetes (diabetes mellitus), or those with intestinal problems that improve with a high fibre diet (colitis, constipation). The high fibre content increases nutritional volume, which in turn increases satiety and reduces the feeling of hunger. It minimises fluctuations in blood sugar levels and may reduce the need for daily insulin. The passage of food through the gut is regulated, and more water is absorbed which stimulates bowel activity. For smaller dogs, Hill's r/d Mini Canine is more suitable.

Obesity in dogs

Obesity can be frustrating for your dog, and also reduces their energy levels and life expectancy. As with humans, excess weight is usually due to excessive calorie and fat intake, combined with insufficient exercise. Obesity can lead to serious conditions such as heart disease, arthritis and diabetes.

Not suitable for

This diet is not suitable for: cats, puppies, pregnant or lactating female dogs, weakened or dehydrated dogs, or those with advanced heart, kidney or liver failure.

Composition

Maize, chicken (12%) and turkey meal, maize gluten meal, cellulose, pea gluten meal, dried beet pulp, protein hydrolysate, animal fat, minerals, linseed, L-carnitine, vitamins, trace elements and beta-carotene.
With a natural antioxidant (mixed tocopherols).
