My dog loved his previous donut bed but it ended up flat and lumpy after 12 months and multiple washes. This new one is much sturdier (and consequently heavier) because of the filling. He looks so comfy and cushioned in there, I'm quite jealous. I haven't washed it yet but like the idea of a removable, washable cover, which should help it last longer. In case it helps, I bought the large for our cocker spaniel who is fairly standard size and it's just right. I think a larger breed wouldn't be so comfortable in this size.
