My cat loves the bird and regularly claws his way to the top of this post. Large enough to give a good stretch. It has a sturdy base so won't fall over even during vigorous play, though I find I need to tighten the bolt connection occasionally by twisting the post relative to the base. I don't love the carpet on the base, but it's still relatively attractive compared to other scratching posts.
