LaPerm

LaPerm cats are definitely eye-catchers with their unique, curly coat. It’s a very curious breed with a soft voice. LaPerm cats go bald at a young age, after which the hair grows back curly. LaPerm cats are originally farm cats that love hunting. They make for the perfect companions! The LaPerm received recognition in the UK in 2008.

Character

LaPerms love people and are happy just being lap cats. This extravert breed has a soft, modest voice and loves haunting. Although their curly coat is unique, it’s their soft character that makes it a popular breed among cat lovers.

Body, legs and tail

The LaPerm is medium-sized with oriental features. It’s a muscular breed with average bones. Their front legs are shorter than their hind legs. Their averagely long legs are muscular and they have round paws.

Head, ears and eyes

LaPerm cats have a strong chin and a triangular head. This breed has high cheeks with prominent whisker pads. Their ears are wide at the base with blunt tips. The ear furnishings are also curly. Most LaPerm cats have lynx tips. The eye colour isn’t connected to the colour of the coat. This breed has almond-shaped eyes.

Coat

LaPerm cats can have short hair, semi-long hair and long  hair. Their coat is always curly, regardless of the length. The longhaired and semi-longhaired cats have soft curls and a dense undercoat. The care depends on the type of coat.
