Exo Terra Coco Husk is a biodegradable terrarium substrate made from ground coconut husks, sourced from sustainable plantations in tropical Asia. This eco-friendly substrate is ideal for tropical terrarium setups and naturally increases humidity. Its hygroscopic properties ensure moisture is gradually absorbed and released, which aids in moulting and prevents respiratory issues. Coco Husk is triple washed, heat-treated, and machine dried to remove bacterial contamination and salt residues. Its structure encourages natural digging and nesting behaviour and offers excellent drainage and aeration, which promotes the growth of healthy waste-reducing organisms. The substrate is completely non-toxic, free from chemicals and pesticides, and can be safely composted. Thanks to its natural composition, it keeps the terrarium fresh, clean, and biologically balanced.
