The Exo Terra Forest Bark is a biodegradable terrarium substrate made from 100% natural Douglas fir bark. It is ideal for moisture-loving reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates from tropical and wooded habitats. Thanks to its hygroscopic properties, the substrate absorbs moisture and releases it slowly, ensuring humidity remains stable in a natural way. The specially selected size and shape of the bark pieces encourage natural digging behaviour and help prevent crickets from hiding in the substrate. The substrate is extensively tumbled to remove dust and smooth the bark pieces. Additionally, it is heat-treated to reduce bacterial contamination and works as an odour absorber.
