Harrison's Juvenile Hand-Feeding Formula
Harrison's Juvenile Hand-Feeding Formula is a complete, organic hand-feeding formula tailored to the nutritional needs of young, growing birds. The feed is suitable for various species of psittacines, including cockatiels, lovebirds, pyrrhuras, pionus parrots, amazons, African greys, cockatoos and macaws. The formula can also be given to pigeons and doves during the growth phase. Depending on the bird species, Harrison's Juvenile Hand-Feeding Formula can be used from different ages. For pionus parrots, African greys, amazons, cockatoos, pyrrhuras and macaws, this can be from day 1, for other parrots from day 7 and for cockatiels from day 21. Feeding guidelines
Chicks with open eyes can be fed 3 to 4 times a day. For birds whose feathers are beginning to emerge, 2 to 3 feeds per day are recommended. Carefully check the crop before each feeding. It should be almost empty before feeding again. Prepare each feeding fresh by mixing Harrison's Juvenile Hand-Feeding Formula with drinking water at approximately 39 °C. For the mixing ratio, use the advice of your avian vet, tailored to the age of the bird. Do not heat the feed in the microwave and allow it to cool to lukewarm before feeding. Use a feeding syringe and carefully insert it from the left side of the beak, directing it towards the right side of the neck. Allow the bird to swallow during feeding. Feed until the crop is full, but not overfull. After feeding, clean the beak, feathers and enclosure and remove any remaining feed.
