Product information
Harrison's Recovery
Harrison's Recovery is a complete, nutritious formula for animals that need extra nutritional support. This recovery food is suitable for birds, rodents, rabbits and reptiles and can be used for animals recovering from illness, surgery or other medical treatment. The food can also be used in cases of reduced food intake, during the transition to another diet and for birds that are severely underweight and whose crop empties slowly. In addition, Harrison's Recovery can be used as hand-feeding for young, small insectivorous birds. When hand-feeding, the correct feeding technique is important to prevent injuries and inhalation of food. Therefore, have the correct procedure demonstrated by a vet or someone experienced in hand-feeding.

Feeding guidelines
Before feeding, carefully check that the bird's crop is almost empty. Prepare each portion fresh by mixing 1 part dry Harrison's Recovery with 1 to 3 parts water at approximately 39 °C. Adjust the thickness if necessary and do not heat the food in the microwave. Feeding with a crop needle or flexible feeding tube is the most effective method and should only be carried out by someone with sufficient experience. When using a non-metal or flexible tube, make sure the bird cannot damage it. Feed until the crop is full, but not overfull, and feels soft. After feeding, remove any remaining food from the beak, feathers and the enclosure. Repeat feeding as often as needed to maintain or increase weight.

FantasticBy Inge, Wednesday 4 February 2026Harrison's Recovery - 350 g
I bought this after trying several porridges that were barely eaten, but my dwarf hamster with dental problems licks this up eagerly! I give him a fresh bowl of porridge four times a day, and he has gained a lot of weight and even partly eats his regular food again. I don't know if it’s sufficient as a complete diet for a hamster eating only the porridge, but it definitely supports him well.

Helps my parrot towards better healthBy Manouk, Thursday 11 September 2025Harrison's Recovery - 350 g
My parrot is currently ill and I have to force-feed her. By now she comes to me willingly because she finds the mash very tasty. She is visibly improving. The only downside is that I find it quite an expensive product. I need 2 of these sachets per month and there are no larger sizes available.
