    Hill's k/d - Kidney Care - Prescription Diet - Feline

Hill’s Prescription Diet k/d Kidney Care cat food with chicken is a complete dietetic food specially developed for cats with kidney conditions. This food has been formulated by veterinarians and helps support kidney function while maintaining your cat’s overall condition. The adapted formulation supports kidney function and is designed to help slow the progression associated with kidney problems. It also contributes to maintaining the quality of life of cats with kidney issues. Thanks to the unique Enhanced Appetite Trigger (E.A.T.) technology, appetite is stimulated and nutrient intake is supported. This is particularly important for cats with kidney problems, which often have a reduced appetite. In combination with increased energy content, essential amino acids and L-carnitine, it helps maintain muscle mass. The dry food is prepared with chicken and has a palatable formulation, making it well accepted by cats.

Also available in Hill's k/d Kidney Care - Prescription Diet - Feline wet food.

    Kidney disorders

Kidney disease can have many different causes and is either sudden (acute) or gradual (chronic). Kidney disorders can be caused by other diseases or changes in health, as a result of breed and hereditary predisposition, and even due to improper nutrition. Symptoms of kidney disease usually occur when over two thirds of kidney function is already lost. Hill's k/d Feline prolongs life and improves the cat's quality of life by slowing the development of symptoms.

    Hill's Prescription Diet k/d Kidney Care - Chicken - 5 kg

Unfortunately, my cat only licks off the gravy. If I mash it she will not eat it at all. Tried mixing with other food but still leaves it all. A lot of wastage.

    Hill's Prescription Diet k/d Kidney Care - Chicken - 5 kg

My elderly cat is early stages renal failure so this diet is about mitigating further deterioration for him. He seems to find it palatable and easy to eat without teeth (extracted due to stomatitis) and he enjoys licking up the gravy and morsels. He does seem brighter and healthier overall.
