Later, I bought a few more because it said the mat would only heat up when something was lying on it. I thought that was great to save energy since the cat was often out and about (not yet neutered). What turned out? The mats kept heating even when nothing was on them. This was proven with a high-quality thermal imaging camera. I confronted the importer about this, but unfortunately got a lot of nonsense in reply. In short, they work excellently for warming the cat and possibly the outdoor shelter, but they heat up even when the cat isn’t on them. The description suggests otherwise. Despite that, I can still recommend them. Power consumption is 15 Watts.
