PetSafe Staywell Aluminium Pet Flap

A good replacement.

I was pleasantly surprised. The frame is made of aluminium and very sturdy. The manual was fine. There was a template included for cutting the hole, and the assembly was a piece of cake. It took a little longer because I had to saw through a solid hardwood door. But of course, that’s not the supplier’s fault. The flap works perfectly as well. The dogs were hesitant at first. Because the flap is very flexible, I kept it held up with some clamps for the first few days. But after a bit of practice and coaxing with tasty treats (initially with the flap held slightly up), they now run through it. The closing panel is also good quality. You smoothly slide it into the guides, and it clicks shut with a button. Pulling the button allows the panel to slide smoothly out of the guides again. The panel is made of very sturdy plastic. In short, a great and neat solution that allows the dogs to go outside without the door having to be left open and causing cold drafts. Oh, and there’s a magnetic strip under the flap so it closes properly and doesn’t immediately blow open again when there’s a bit of wind. Definitely recommended. And all the materials you need are included, so it’s a complete package (except, of course, a saw).
