Luna has been happily eating this for a year now, although I do mix it with other food as she doesn't like it on its own very much. Good for diabetic cats.

Product Description
Royal Canin Diabetic
Diabetes mellitus
Diabetes mellitus is common in cats. It is usually found in older animals, but can also occur in younger cats. Diabetes mellitus can be successfully treated with insulin and an appropriate diet, but the success of treatment depends largely on the daily commitment and accuracy of the owner.
Recommended for:
- Diabetes mellitus (due to obesity, pancreatic disorder, female hormones, etc.)
- Maintaining target weight after weight loss.
Key features:
Being overweight makes the body's cells less sensitive to insulin. Royal Canin Diabetic ensures that your cat loses the extra weight so that insulin is more effective. A high protein content and the addition of L-carnitine reduces excess weight and maintains muscle mass. Royal Canin Diabetic Cat contains specific carbohydrates (barley, maize and psyllium), which are gradually absorbed by the body after the meal. These ingredients help limit fluctuations in blood sugar. Cartilage protecting ingredients (glucosamine and chondroitin sulphate) help maintain normal joint mobility and reduce the risk of joint disorders. A specific combination of natural antioxidants inhibits the effects of ageing.
Please note: The use of this nutritional food increases the cat's sensitivity to insulin, so different (lower) amounts of insulin must often be given. Therefore, when starting this diet it is recommended to get new blood glucose and insulin level readings from your veterinarian, so that a lower insulin dose can be set.
Not suitable for:
Royal Canin Diabetic Cat is not suitable for pregnant or lactating cats, kittens, cats with increased energy requirements, or growing cats.

Product is goodBy Marit, Tuesday 2 June 2026Royal Canin Diabetic Cat 48 x 85g Tins
The product is good but the service from Medpets is absolutely fantastic! I was worried I’d run out of stock for my cat with diabetes, but when I sent a message to Medpets, I had my repeat order the next day. Very happy with it, thank you again very much.
