    Urinary tract problems:

Nutrition plays a major role in the treatment of bladder stones or urinary crystals. Your vet will usually prescribe a special diet food for your pet, such as Royal Canin Urinary S/O Moderate Calorie Diet. Royal Canin Urinary S/O Moderate Calorie helps to dissolve struvite stones/crystals (bladder stones) and prevents them from reforming. In addition, this food can also prevent the formation of calcium oxalate.

    Recommended for:

    • Dissolves struvite stones
    • Preventing recurrent urinary tract problems
    • Adult cats with a tendency to become overweight

Also available in Royal Canin Urinary S/O Moderate Calorie Cat dry food.

    Key features:

Thanks to the special composition of Royal Canin Urinary S/O Moderate Calorie, struvite stones can be effectively dissolved. A moderate energy content helps to reduce the risk of becoming overweight. Due to an increased moisture intake, your cat should urinate more often, and as a result, the concentration of crystal-forming components in the urine is reduced. The additional GAGs (glycosaminoglycans) in the food can support the bladder wall in cats with urinary tract disorders.

    Advice:

To treat struvite stones, Royal Canin Urinary S/O Moderate Calorie should be prescribed for 5 to 12 weeks. In order to prevent the return of urinary tract problems, the treatment should continue for at least 6 months. After recovery, Royal Canin Urinary S/O (High Dilution) may be advised as a preventive measure.

    Warning:

Royal Canin Urinary S/O Moderate Calorie is not suitable for pregnant or lactating female cats and kittens, cats with high blood pressure, chronic renal failure and heart failure, or for use alongside urine acidifying medication. In older animals it is recommended that the renal function is monitored regularly by your veterinarian.

  • Very good, but unfortunately very expensive!

Royal Canin Urinary S/O Mod. Cal. Cat Morsels Gravy - 48 x 85g

Due to health reasons, my tomcat unfortunately relies on exactly this food. Considering his size, he can go through five to six pouches a day (over 80% of the food is water), so the monthly costs do add up. But the quality is good!

I have a female cat who had problems with bladder stones from a very young age. Since I’ve been using this food, she hasn’t had any problems anymore. I recommend this product.

Our tomcat Lewis can only have special food due to bladder stone problems, and he really loves the Royal Canin wet food pouches. Since Lewis started eating this food, he hasn’t had any more issues with bladder stones. Really happy with this Royal Canin line.
