SANIMED Intestinal Dog

Note: The recipe of SANIMED Intestinal dog has changed. From now on, this product contains insect as animal protein source instead of rabbit. Thanks to the reduced fat content (8.5%) the product can now also be used for animals with pancreatitis. The change in the animal protein source has given the new kibble a slightly different colour. Furthermore, the composition of the product SANIMED Intestinal has remained unchanged.

Gastrointestinal problems

Nutrients and moisture required by the body are absorbed from a healthy gastrointestinal tract, for both normal function and recovery of the entire body. Gastrointestinal disorders prevent this process from functioning properly. For recovery, it is important that the gastrointestinal tract can perform its function, without further irritation. A large part of the treatment of digestive disorders is a highly digestible diet, to relieve the bowels as much as possible. SANIMED Intestinal food is specially developed to help with digestive disorders.

• SANIMED Intestinal contains a single animal protein source (insects) and is gluten and lactose free, helping to reduce or avoid reactions to food.
• SANIMED Intestinal contains highly digestible proteins and carbohydrates, and a moderate amount of fat, for optimal absorption of nutrients and as little disturbance as possible to the intestines.
• Due to the high digestibility of the protein, less undigested protein reaches the large intestine, producing less toxic waste. For the same reason, the diet is low in insoluble fibre.
• The moderate fat content in the diet prevents harmful substances from reaching the intestinal bacteria, which are often poorly contained with gastrointestinal disorders. This prevents the condition from worsening.
• A moderate level of beet pulp is added to stimulate the health of the colon.
• Salmon oil and beta-glucans boost the dogs immune system.
• Zeolites absorb excess water and certain toxins in the gastrointestinal tract (which controls water loss from the body), stools become firmer and moisture loss is reduced.
• Dogs with diarrhoea lose more potassium and sodium. SANIMED Intestinal replaces these losses, with increased amounts of these minerals.

Composition

Rice, pea protein isolate, insect meal (13%), potato starch, minerals, animal fat (poultry), fish oil, dried beet pulp, hydrolysed chicken liver, yeast extract (source of beta-glucans) (0.08%).
