Osteoarthritis is a joint disease that is caused by degradation of the articular cartilage, leading to inflammatory reactions in the joint. Osteoarthritis cannot be cured, so treatment is aimed at inhibiting the further degradation of the cartilage and relieving the pain as much as possible. Preventing obesity can slow the onset of osteoarthritis.
