Essential substances

Colostrum is the first milk produced by the mother after giving birth. It contains a number of essential substances that the puppies should ingest within 24 hours. When preparing for the birth of puppies, it is always good to have a small amount of puppy milk available so the puppies can be adequately fed, or to use should the puppies cannot be fed by their mother.

Mother's milk

From birth, puppies are entirely dependent on the supply of nutrients contained in puppy milk. If the mother has insufficient milk, or if the milk is not of a sufficient quality, it is necessary to replace or supplement the puppy milk. Puppies that are fed a good puppy milk substitute in the first 4 weeks of their life will generally develop into healthy dogs. For pregnant or lactating dogs, it is highly important that they are in good condition. The female dog needs more energy and a concentrated, easily digestible food. Use

Dissolve the powder in warm water in a bottle to prevent clumping. If you want to make 45 ml milk: Take 30 ml of water (around 50 degrees) and add 15g of TROVET Puppy Milk powder. Shake the bottle and check if the powder dissolved properly.

Please note:

It's important to make sure that the milk cooled down to around 38 degrees. You can check by pouring some on your wrist.
