The granules can absorb liquids up to seven times their own volume. Unpleasant smells are immediately contained in the interior of the litter. I had never used this sort of wood litter before and am amazed by it. The clumping is brilliant, making it so easy to scoop. It also seems to absorb a lot of odour. I will not use anything else now.
