Eye gel for dogs

An eye gel helps to keep your dog’s eyes moisturised and protected for longer. Because a gel is thicker than eye drops, it stays on the eye for longer. This makes eye gel particularly suitable for dogs with dry, sensitive or irritated eyes.

When should you use eye gel?

Eye gel can provide support for:

  • dry eyes
  • reduced tear production
  • sensitive or irritated eyes
  • irritation caused by wind, dust or dry air
  • supporting the eye surface

Because the gel stays on the eye for longer, it often needs to be applied less frequently than eye drops.

How do you use eye gel?

Apply the eye gel according to the instructions on the packaging or the advice of your vet. Make sure the tip of the tube does not touch the eye or eyelids to prevent contamination of the contents and to avoid damaging the eye.

When should you go to the vet?

Is your dog squinting, is the eye red, swollen or painful, or does your dog have a lot of discharge from the eye? Contact your vet. Eye gel can support and moisturise the eyes, but it is not a substitute for treatment of an underlying eye condition.
