Degreases (sebum) but doesn’t detangle. I have a Maine Coon, and after washing, it even seemed like there were more tangles. Combing was also more difficult, which made it even more unpleasant for my cat. The fur felt rougher than usual. Getting rid of all the sebum isn't good, but this shampoo didn’t reduce it at all either. It does smell lovely, though.
