Dental plaque is a thin, almost invisible layer that continuously forms on the teeth. It consists of food residues, mucus, and bacteria. When not removed, plaque hardens into tartar. While you can remove plaque through regular brushing, tartar can only be removed by your veterinarian.

Brushing Instructions

You don’t need to open your dog’s or cat’s mouth completely to brush their teeth. Simply lift the lip and clean all visible outer surfaces of the teeth and molars. The inner sides of the teeth are naturally cleaned by the tongue, and the friction between the upper and lower teeth also helps remove debris. The more frequently you brush, the faster your pet will get used to it and the better the results. To prevent tartar build-up, brushing once or twice a week is usually sufficient.
