Paw balm for dogs

Your dog’s paws are exposed to a lot on a daily basis. Whether you go for long walks in the woods, walk on rough, hard surfaces or through snow and road salt, your dog’s paw pads are constantly affected by external influences. A good paw balm supports recovery and helps keep the paw pads supple, hydrated and protected.

Why use paw balm?

Your dog’s paw pads are heavily used every day. Although the skin on the pads is thicker and stronger than on other parts of the body, it is still prone to dryness, cracks and damage. Many balms contain natural ingredients such as beeswax, shea butter, calendula or honey, known for their caring properties. A good paw balm creates a light protective barrier against external influences without sealing the skin. Especially for dogs that spend a lot of time outdoors, active dogs or dogs with sensitive paws, regular use of paw balm can help prevent problems and improve your dog’s comfort.

Paw balms and waxes care for and protect your dog’s paw pads. They help with:

  • Hydrating dry, rough or cracked paw pads
  • Preventing cracks and irritation caused by friction or extreme temperatures
  • Supporting skin recovery after intensive walks or exposure to road salt
  • Soothing sensitive or painful areas on the paws

When should you use paw balm or paw wax?

  • In winter to protect against cold, snow and road salt
  • In summer to protect against hot surfaces
  • For dry or damaged paw pads
  • As daily care after walks
  • For dogs with sensitive paws or a tendency to cracking

Combining paw care

In addition to applying paw balm, it may be advisable to use paw protection in extreme conditions, such as dog shoes or socks. Regularly cleaning the paws and trimming the hair between the paw pads also contribute to healthy paws.
