Pharmacy for dogs’ skin and coat

The skin is the largest organ of the body. Healthy skin and coat reflect an animal’s overall health. If a dog is unwell, this is often immediately visible in its skin and coat.

Your dog may therefore benefit from some extra support for its skin and coat when experiencing health problems.

Here you will find our complete range for supporting healthy skin and coat.

Your dog may need support for its skin and coat for various reasons. These may include a skin and coat problem itself, but also old age, excessive shedding or another illness.

Your vet can investigate the cause of your dog’s skin problem and, if necessary, provide the appropriate treatment.

Supplements for dogs with allergies

Dogs with an allergic skin problem often have problems with the normal skin barrier. The lipid layer is often not intact, so the skin loses moisture easily and dries out. Omega 3 fatty acids can play an important supporting role here. They can be given in pure form, as in Doils Skin, for example, or combined with skin-supporting vitamins and minerals, as in Pet’s Relief Atopi-3.

You can also provide external support to improve the skin barrier, for example with Allerderm Spot-On or Dermoscent Atop 7 Spot-On.

Vitamins and minerals for healthy skin and coat

Sometimes the skin can benefit from some extra support. This can be provided with vitamins and minerals that are specifically important for the skin. Suitable supplements include:

Biotin and vitamin B are particularly important for pigmentation and the coat. Supplements that can help support these include:

Wound care

Every dog can sustain a small wound or graze. It is helpful to have the right products at home to clean and care for a wound.

You can clean it with Maxani Cleanser Spray, for example.

To support wound healing, you can use a wound ointment such as:

Supplements for support following insect bites

An insect bite often requires some extra, specific support. This can be provided from within with a product such as Puur Apis or Puur Cteno. For external use, you can apply an ointment such as Canina Capha Animal Care Balm or Remedy+ ByeBugBite.

If a dog is affected by the irritating hairs of the processionary caterpillar, special gels such as Processionary Caterpillar Gel and Puur Bombyx are also available to provide support from within.

Supplements for hot spots

Many dogs suffer from hot spots. Special supplements are also available for this problem. Puur Hotspot provides support from within. For external use, you can treat a hot spot with a special spray or foam.

Hot spots can cover a very large area! Do not simply try to treat a hot spot yourself. Have the area checked by your vet first. Extensive treatment is sometimes necessary, and a spray or foam may not be sufficient.
